Bolt Head and Smiley Face In 1989 we won a small Artist Trust grant to make yard art. We bought several decommissioned telephone poles and cut them into fence posts or as we call them – head posts. Dick carved them and Jane decorated them. It was the perfect collaboration. We have since had to move and rebuild the fence but we haven’t lost our heads over it.
