The
Waters of Our Endless Dreams
2004 • 84”x216”
In the 30 years I have been painting I have come to love the connection
to the unconscious self, including the darker side represented here
by the snake figures. In the early years the dark side held true dread
and fear for me but through familiarity it has evolved to the nature
of ‘things that go bump in the night.’ Often my dreams
refer to creation of art, myself or of worlds to live in.
Dream:
We had taken the sludge from an old world and divided it into three
parts. It was our job to awaken these new worlds by fertilizing them
every half hour, metaphorically speaking. When they were ready we
could live in one of these new worlds or even choose to revive the
old one and live there.
