They represent the fragmented self, the child who became lost in pain, anger and the yearning for oblivion. The persona had carried them into adulthood but kept them outside of her consciousness, on a long tether. Through the creative act they have become visible and gained vitality. In coming to know them, I have been released from the control they held without my knowledge. Because of all that I have learned from them, I have willingly given my promise to serve in the name of the child. The metamorphosis of the fractured childhood self to a whole adult is brought about, through time, by a series of transforming experiences.
