Reaching for Help
During this time in my therapy I was more aware of and alarmed by
my feelings. I felt very depressed, agitated, lost and alone. In
fact I felt so bad that I called my therapist and asked what was
happening to me. I described my feelings and he said, “That’s
anxiety. You said you wanted to have awareness of your feelings.
So what's the problem?” Cold, but true. I realized that this
was something I had to experience. He had helped me get to this
point and it was going to get worse before it got better.
Dream:
I was in a dark hospital room. I got out of the bed but was
weak and fell to the floor. It was too dark to be sure but I thought
that there was blood pouring from my face after my fall. I thought
I had gone through all of this stuff years ago. Why do I have to
do it again? Will this time be a cure or is it the wound that never
heals?
